Exciting opportunity for a Facility Engineer, in our Hardware-in-the-Loop Team!

Salary: Up to £33k depending on experience

What we can offer you:
  • Company bonus of up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
  • Pension of maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%
  • Paid overtime
  • Up to 15 additional days flexi leave

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically, for this role you will work 80+% on site - working with world class equipment

The opportunity:

We are looking for ambitious engineers with a growth mind-set to join our team. If you're the right person for us, you will seek a supportive environment, surrounded by passionate experts while being a part of a collaborative and driven team.

The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) team conduct the most complete test of missiles other than a firing and are MBDA's Missile test track. We design complex, real-time simulations that surround real missile hardware to allow us to ‘fire missiles indoors'.

As a HWIL Facility Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the simulations, by ensuring facility equipment is fit for purpose and readily available. You will be reactive and proactive in providing engineering skills to maintain the facility at its full potential. There will be planned maintenance activities and less predictable corrective maintenance in response to unforeseen issues. The equipment you will encounter is unique to the world of missile testing and the skills you will develop will be wide ranging.

You will be able to adapt to new engineering situations and be comfortable in abstracting detail in order to understand the facility system and equipment.

What we're looking for from you:

Broad engineering experience with deeper experience in some of the following skill areas:
  • Understanding of Hydraulic systems
  • Computer Aided Design experience (CREO an advantage)
  • Able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Workshop skills (hand and electrical tools)
  • Psychomotor skills, dextrous and physically fit
  • Capable of working at height
  • I.T. literate and capable of using Management Information Systems (MIS)

Able to work on own initiative but contribute ideas to team performance. Willing to work as part of a small facility team responsible for the Hardware-In-The- Loop operating environment. Dynamic in your approach and willing to work flexibly when required to maintain equipment to support our mission.
