Job Details

At Thales, we respond to fast changing markets by serving customers that rely on us worldwide. From Aerospace and Transportation to Defence, Security and Space, our innovative solutions make tomorrow possible. And as we research, develop, and supply this cutting-edge technology to organisations, our services inadvertently impact millions of lives each and every day. And that’s where you come in. An engineer ready and willing to advance your career in every sense of the word ‘life-changing’.

As a Senior Systems Engineer you’ll be an instrumental part in our activities across the full lifecycles for Submarines, Surface Ships, Airborne Sonar, and Command and Control Systems. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Product Designers, Delivery Managers and Design teams with acoustic, hardware, software, and mechanical systems. You’ll prepare and present system level design reviews, thoroughly monitor emerging design, liaise with end-users and customers, and complete performance analysis of our systems. All in an effort to responsibly lead in the successful delivery of a complex and important programme of activity.

With relevant qualifications in engineering or another relevant scientific discipline, you’ll have an excellent and demonstrable knowledge of acoustic design and SONAR systems in underwater environments. Your experience in the defence industry will mean your problem-solving capabilities are dynamic, innovative, and clear. And your ability to communicate effectively makes you a reliable team player. Pair that with a desire to share knowledge and grow in order to succeed and you’ll be able to expertly deliver the systems required.

We’re passionate about the brilliant opportunities we provide. And we’ll be there to support you every step of the way. Offering training courses across a range of specialisms that exist so you can thrive.

Thales helps you get the right balance by providing inter-company childcare facilities*, parental leave*, cultural and social activities*, flexible work hours*, remote working when and where possible, and more.
