Job Details

From Aerospace and Transportation to Defence, Security and Space, our innovative solutions make tomorrow possible. We’re a global leader in underwater systems delivering maritime sensor technology and assisting naval forces for over 50 years. And as we research, develop, and supply this cutting-edge technology to organisations, our services inadvertently impact millions of lives each and every day. And that’s where you come in. An engineer ready and willing to advance your career in every sense of the word ‘life-changing’.

As a System IVVQ Engineer, you’ll play a key part in our Systems Integration and Test team (SI&T), delivering and installing systems for a range of Royal Navy vehicles. Our robust hardware and software solutions are developed through rigorous test and trial strategies. Which is where you’ll be responsible. Writing and conducting test procedures and documenting results to support the wider IVVQ activities. You’ll produce installation guide materials, support customer acceptance and work with other functions to ensure that all deployed products are maintained properly and operated with the adequate amount of training.

With a Higher Education level qualification in a relevant numerate or scientific field, you’ll possess skills and experience that extend from System Engineering and Hardware to Platform Experience in both Naval Dockyards and the digital landscape. You’ll be comfortable conducting, reporting, and collating ‘sell off’ evidence during all test campaigns as well as able to work across both digital and analogue electronics. Your understanding of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, IVVQ, mapping requirements for test activities, capacity to generate test plans and cable data sheets, and install bespoke are imperative to your success.

We’re passionate about the brilliant opportunities we provide. And we’ll be there to support you every step of the way. Offering training courses across a range of specialisms that exist so you can thrive.

Thales helps you get the right balance by providing inter-company childcare facilities*, parental leave*, cultural and social activities*, flexible work hours*, remote working when and where possible, and more.
