Job Description
Salary: Base salary: £25,250pa to c. £31,600pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Technical Advisor at HS2 you will provide technical advice and support to the S1/S2 Engineering and Environmental Managers and their teams, including coordinating team meetings and direction on the use of MS Teams, Sharepoint, and eB.
About the role:
- Act as first point of contact for senior manager, departments / team and other stakeholders on Technical, Contractual and administrative services and processes, redirecting and responding as appropriate, and ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Manage RFI and Departure responses to ensure they are produced in a timely manner through liaison with SMEs and the local Eng&Env team
- Assess draft RFU responses to ensure they address the questions raised by the contractor prior to seeking HOEE/Deputy HOEE approval
- Assist SPEs with responses to CEMAR communications by drafting them where possible and seeking approval / input from SMEs as appropriate.
- Coordinate and manage departmental team meetings to ensure effecting running of meetings and the successful delivery of outcomes, including collating agenda’s and responses, taking meeting minutes and notes if required, and managing required actions
- Prepare and format briefing packs, presentations and other documentation for HOEE, Deputy HOEE and departmental teams as required.
- Develop reporting systems and develop / update and maintain Team, Departmental and Directorate records, databases and systems to ensure effective functioning of the Directorate and collective team.
- Develop and maintain information system in MS Teams and Sharepoint to enable team to file documentation effectively to ensure ease of access across the team, and the wider IPT where appropriate
- Manage all eB MWCC RFIs for the team, liase with SMEs and as required draft responses and coordinate required actions to ensure an adequate response to the contractor within the contractual time period.
- Provide ad hoc administrative leadership including liaison with Document Control teams within HS2, TfL, NR and others to resolve inter-company information sharing issues
- Maintain continuous administrative support for HOEE and team and identify enhancements to continually improve the functioning of the collective team
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures in EDI.
About You:
Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritise work
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Aptitude to understand systems (eB, CEMAR, Sharepoint, PowerBI etc) and to develop solutions to increase efficiency
Knowledge:
- MS office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook)
- Excel (basic - including charts)
- Understanding of Organisational structures
Experience:
- Database experience – ideally Assetwise/eB.
- Ideally Engineering related post A level qualification (to provide a sufficiently detailed understanding of the engineering issues involved), or A levels with the right aptitude.
