About the Role
Base Location: Aldershot, Basingstoke, Petersfield or Portsmouth
Salary: £44,195 - £50,611 depending on authorisations and skills and experience + car/cash allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available
We are looking for a Plant Replacement and Automation Engineer to join our team!
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Being out on-site, checking works to ensuring compliance and working with our framework partner to ensure quality and right first-time installation.
- Traveling across sites along the South Coast working with our project management team and design teams. You'll be critical in ensuring operational safety on-site and driving quality of works.
- Installation and commissioning of Plant and Automation Schemes. You'll complete installations of automated equipment in urban and rural environments, working with line teams and substation teams as necessary.
- Coordinating plant including retro fitting and complete installation of Local Control Units, communications modems and antenna.
- Commissioning all new automated plant end-to-end. Full commissioning of complete automation schemes with Distribution Control Centres.
What do I need?
- SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5,7,10B and CAT 14 C & D. Training will be given for CAT 4E and automation installations if required.
- Preferably we would like you to hold CAT 12 B & CAT 15 SFT however training will be given if required.
- Operational experience on SSEN switchgear.
- Knowledge of distribution automation systems.
- Awareness of key stakeholders and customers for electricity distribution.
- A passion for safety and the motivation to work well in a team as well as independently.
It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.
