Job Details

As a Sensor Integration Engineer at MBDA, you will have the chance to contribute to innovative projects and play a crucial role in the advancement of our hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations!

Job Title: Sensor Integration Engineer

Salary: Up to circa £55,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Are you an ambitious engineer with a growth mind-set? Are you seeking a supportive environment where you can work alongside passionate experts and be part of a collaborative and driven team? If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you!

Our HWIL team conducts the most complete tests of missiles (other than actual firing), and we design complex, real-time simulations that surround real missile hardware. This unique approach allows us to "fire missiles indoors" and test the performance of our systems flawlessly.
  • Understand the range of missile sensors and integrate them with the real-time HWIL simulation
  • Test and modify target generation equipment
  • Adapt to new engineering situations and abstract detail to understand the simulation and missile's behaviour

If you have a proven track record in engineering and are ready to take on exciting challenges in the field of sensor integration, we want to hear from you.

What we're looking for from you:

A broad engineering experience with deeper expertise in some (not necessarily all) of the following skill areas:
  • Interface debugging and system integration
  • Radio Frequency or Infra-red design or testing
  • Inertial sensor design or testing
  • Use of microcontrollers (e.g., Raspberry Pi)
  • System performance analysis
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems
