About the Role

Base Location: Dublin

Salary: €64,000 - €96,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

This is an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to work with the Customer Solutions businesses in SSE. Customer Solutions covers Business Energy, serving over 500,000 business and public sector customers in GB, and SSE Airtricity supplying over 700,000 domestic and business customers in Ireland and Northern Ireland. It also provides an important route to market for our renewable generation.

Some significant changes are taking place in this part of SSE that will need your significant experience to deliver the right solutions to support the growth of the business. There are large change programmes underway for digital transformation, an overhaul of the IT estates, introduction of new billing systems, regulatory changes and the formation of a central data platform.

- You'll be responsible for the delivery of the high-level architectures and solution designs covering a wider range of systems and applications within the Customer Solutions Landscape.

- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders by inspiring confidence in the delivery of a portfolio of business-focussed projects and initiatives and a mix of large Industry-driven Programmes.

- You'll follow SSE's project delivery and architecture frameworks and you'll be comfortable with both waterfall and agile delivery methods.

- You'll be very familiar with various Cloud based solutions, from IAAS, PAAS and SaaS, and with Cloud best practices, with a strong preference for Azure and AWS.

- You will be leading effective conversations with Cloud and infrastructure architects, Security architects and engineering. You'll show ability to quickly address problems at the right level, from high level application architecture to detailed integration patterns.

A key part of the role will be to ensure we make progress on our key issues, while keeping solutions aligned to organisation and industry standards and with other programmes/projects, for which a seamless collaboration with your team and with other Architects across SSE is fundamental

What do I need?

You will be able to demonstrate that you'll be able to perform in the following areas:

- Have an understanding of common business capabilities within a typical Service industry including Customer Experience (Digital & Contact Centres), Sales and Marketing, CRM, Billing and Fulfilment.

- Being able to lead a project from an architecture perspective, ensuring that all decisions that are architecturally relevant can be taken following the appropriate governance (including peer review) and proactively informing the project plan in that direction.

- A track record of working within both waterfall and agile environments, with experience of SAFE and Scrum methods.

- Excellent communicator with ability to operate within cross functional teams

- Understand a broad range of modern Architecture patterns and technologies, ideally including current digital technologies, Big Data and Analytics, Integration, Public Cloud (Azure, AWS), APIs, Microservices, Serverless Computing, Platform as a Service, Containers, AI, Machine Learning.
