AWE is currently recruiting for Analogue Electronics Engineers
Working as part of a small team of experienced engineers, this role offers candidates the opportunity to apply their domain knowledge and experience to gain the requisite depth of knowledge of warhead electrical systems so they can apply sound engineering principles to analyse these systems and develop their career with us.
Please note these roles offer various flexible working patterns including Part-Time & Term Time Only options to provide the flexibility we all need to effectively balance our work life commitments. You will also benefit from every other Friday off!
Location: Reading
Salary: £47,690 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role?
Applicants should have experience in the designing, testing, and fault-finding of electronic hardware, with the ability to analyse and assess existing designs. Knowledge of the application of electronics to defence systems would be an advantage but not essential.
Whilst not to be considered a checklist, we would welcome applications from candidates who have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Analogue circuit design
- Digital support circuit design
- Electronic circuit fault finding
- Circuit simulation and modelling
- Switch mode power supply design (SMPS)
- High voltage circuit design considerations
- Electromagnetics design. Specifically, small form factor transformers
- Generation of requirements and specifications
- Data analysis
These roles will require someone who has:
- The ability to make sound engineering judgments with limited data
- The ability to undertake/manage trials and tests to verify component behaviour
- The ability to manage/lead technical projects and component development
- Good written and oral communication skills
- The ability to write clear and concise reports
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Delivery of formal presentations to peers, management, and customers
We would like candidates to have a degree qualification (or equivalent e.g. HND plus vocational training) in electrical/electronic engineering or applied physics, followed by relevant experience.
