We currently have an exciting opportunity for a number of Trainee Operational Engineers to join our Operations Directorate.

This cohort of up and coming Engineers will receive one year of intense training and development, that will introduce them to Electricity North West, provide them with an appreciation of our Operations Teams and what they do, ultimately resulting in becoming authorised to independently operate on our Low Voltage Network.

In this role you can expect to spend a great deal of time out in the field so a passion for being outdoors in all weathers would be a benefit.

On successful completion of your 12 month Training Programme, you will be employed as a Delivery Technician on a starting salary of £41349.60 plus a company car or a cash car allowance and you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of work on the LV & HV distribution network to time, cost and quality targets; ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice, in the event of a fault you will also be required undertake LV & HV switching to restore power to our customers.

There is also opportunity for future progression to become authorised to operate our High Voltage Network and become a Senior Authorised Engineer ( SAP ). 

To apply for this role you will hold a minimum of a HNC or Batchelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar; with a background that includes skills that would be transferable into our business. 

You will also require the following 

  • The ability to work by yourself with a minimal amount of supervision and take responsibility for your own development. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office with good analytical skills and with the ability to produce and interpret spreadsheets and to produce MI report. 
  • A focus and drive to provide exceptional customer service 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
