Job Title – Software Engineer

Job Location – Tewkesbury OR Fleet, UK

Flexible, condensed or reduced working hours available, i.e. 4-day condensed working week, 9-day fortnights,12pm finish every Friday, etc.

L3Harris in Tewkesbury and Fleet are part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.

What you’ll bring

The role of a Software Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

  • Solid experience of object orientated design and implementation principles (OOD, OOP)
  • Previous Software Engineering experience in one or more languages as above, with up-to-date skills and a keen interest in industry best practice
  • Lifecycle experience – some or all of planning (including Software Development Plans), requirements, architecture, design, implementation, unit test, integration test, release, associated reviews
  • Ability to solve complex problems autonomously or as part of a team
  • Track record of producing reliable, robust, intuitive, maintainable software
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan and execute assigned work in line with schedule and budget
  • Commitment to continuous improvement

For more experienced applicants, the following experience is also beneficial:

  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage software team activities
  • Experience of setting up, monitoring and reporting appropriate metrics throughout the software project lifecycle
  • Experience with estimating software engineering activities
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
