About the Role

Base Location: Medway Power Station

Salary: £55,200 - £83,000 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Engineer will be responsible for the management of the power station rotating assets including two GE 9FA gas turbines and a D11 steam turbine.

Your main responsibilities will include;

- Technical governance, compliance with industry best practice and delivery of engineering solutions for rotating plant assets.

- Delivery of an effective outage strategy and management of outages, optimising the planned maintenance strategy to meet with the needs of our stakeholders to maximise reliability and minimise plant downtime.

- Budget ownership and contract management of key strategic suppliers and management of our rotating equipment contract partners.

- Provide technical expertise and advice to other departments in relation to rotating plant, with emphasis on maximising efficiency, plant performance and safety.

These accountabilities are in relation to the rotating plant mechanical assets of the power station.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience within a similar role in the electricity, or an equivalent engineering industry and experience of working with gas and steam turbines.

- Extensive engineering knowledge in relation to gas turbines and steam turbines and familiar with the types of systems and equipment used in power generation.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant working experience.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to successfully manage teams and outages.

- A good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations in relation to mechanical systems and a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
