Job Details
Are you an innovative leader with a significant Mechanical Engineering background? We're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to help shape and drive forward new projects, leading our dynamic new team at Space Park Leicester.
Location: Space Park Leicester
Please note some UK travel will be required
Package: £47,690 - £56,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Role?
Responsibilities will include ensuring best business practices are in place. You will conduct performance reviews, make recommendations on improving policies and procedures, write plans for competency development and plan recruitment for your area.
You will act as a liaison between the TET Management team and the staff who implement their vision. These teams are new so you will need to have a proven record of managing diverse teams of personnel who require strong leadership and vision.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Line Management of a newly formed team.
- To lead the team in concept development and testing of Mechanical Engineering projects.
- To lead the development of flight reference bodies.
- To support material development & testing.
- To lead the team in completing aero-thermal analysis and material development tasks.
- To advise on advanced component manufacturing.
- Ensuring the portfolio of work is carried out as directed by the Senior Engineering Delivery Manager.
- Working as a team with the other managers to ensure delivery of the portfolio is met & provide best practice support to our personnel.
- Identification and problem solving complex operational and management challenges.
- Identifying and supporting opportunities for developing staff within your area of responsibility.
Your key skills should include but not be limited to:
- Proven experience of managing engineering staff.
- Effective communication and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of providing a resilient approach to driving change and supportive change management.
