About the Role

Base Location: Reading

Salary: £46,626 - £54,154 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We are embedding agility in our ways of working, building capability for a digital SSE of the future, meeting the needs of our customers in a different way. SSE IT is building its Agile capability and continues to increase the proportion of its delivery which utilises Agile methodology and tools. As a result, those in Delivery and Portfolio Management roles need to have Agile experience and demonstrate an interest in championing it across the business. The main purpose of the Senior Portfolio Analyst role is to oversee and ensure that all core Portfolio Office delivery functions for reporting, involving financial performance, portfolio metrics and analysis, resource and demand, planning and benefits tracking are delivered to schedule and quality as dictated by agreed prioritization and business objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

- Monitor ongoing compliance with programme/portfolio reporting standards and intervene when this deviates or slips.

- Support to align Agile frameworks and practices with strategic goals, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data and reporting.

- Ensure alignment and consistency across all portfolio control functions, including planning, resource management, and financial control.

- Support end-to-end delivery from Agile Value Stream to benefit realisation, identify and manage deviations from plans and budgets, and facilitate remediation.

- Tracking and reporting of benefits management throughout the project lifecycle in line with documented benefit cases.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience as a Senior PMO Analyst with exposure to supporting major change initiatives and working in an Agile environment.

- Ability to take initiative, with core problem solving skills and analytical thinking to understand issues, excellent attention to detail yet see the big picture and make connections.

- Excellent influencer and communicator, with strong written and verbal skills.

- A proven team player, ability to bring together multi disciplines and manage/foster relationships, building trust with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and seeking opportunities for cross functional collaboration.
