SSEN Transmission Asset Management are currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Engineer, to join our Asset Engineering Enquiries team.

We provide asset information deliverables and safety guidance, to internal and external stakeholders, forming a key part of SSEN Transmission's pathway to a Network for Net Zero. As a key stakeholder, we also review planning applications for any new infrastructure near our existing assets to assess potential impact.

With the growth of our transmission network, and 3rd party infrastructure near our assets, you will help manage a diverse range of internal and external enquiries affecting our existing transmission assets.

- You will apply your engineering expertise to analyse and assess engineering enquiries, affecting overhead lines, cables and substations, drawing on current and legacy data. You may have expertise within a specific asset class, and where required you will collaborate with other Asset Engineers within your team, to learn about other asset classes.

- You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their needs, identify key information sources, and provide engineering data and assessments within specified timescales.

- You will work in line with, and reference appropriate policy, standards, and legislation, recognising potential risk to transmission assets and providing recommendations to mitigate risks where needed.

- You will develop a clear understanding of asset management systems and best practices and how they support SSEN Transmission's 5 clear goals, though participation in the Institute of Asset Management IAM Certificate syllabus.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- An engineering qualification at degree level, or equivalent HV networks operational experience.

- Design experience relating to, overhead lines, underground cables or substation assets.

- A positive and flexible attitude, with ability to respond to emergent challenges paired with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

- An understanding of legislation, policy, and standards and how they apply to asset management.

- Experience of data management systems such as Autodesk Vault, ViewPoint, Trimble Construction One, MS SharePoint, CyberHawk I Hawk, ESRI ArcGIS, IBM Maximo, EA Technology Invest, would be an advantage.
