About the role

Base Location: Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen

Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The key responsibilities of a Commissioning Support Engineer are:

- Support Transmission Operations to safely deliver Transmission projects and customer connections onto the SSE Transmission Network.

- Accountable to the Business for the safety, health and welfare of all personnel and activities being managed, including compliance with STC Code of Practice, SSEN Technical and Quality Standards, ESQCR Standards, Commissioning Processes, CDM regulations, and engagement with regulators and third-parties including statutory stakeholders.

- Ensure the projects are developed and delivered to the appropriate Technical and Quality Standards as set out in the Project Commissioning Plan, whilst identifying opportunities for business improvements.

- Work closely with the key stakeholders for the projects including , National Energy System Operator, Developers, Outage Planning, System Planning, Distribution, Generation, SSEN Technical and Design Authority, Operations, Maintenance, Asset Management, Control Room and Contractors Commissioning Personnel.

- Chair Commissioning Panel Meetings, Project Safety Reviews and attend Design, Outage, NESO Compliance, Project Assurance and Programme reviews.

-The role will be partially site and office based.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- An electrical engineering degree or relevant experience, with a sound knowledge and understanding of electrical power systems and the related operating standards.

- Experience in the electricity Transmission industry: Strong commissioning, engineering and construction knowledge.

- Good understanding of the STC Codes of Practice, Gride Code, Outage Planning, System Planning etc.

- Good people management and strong leadership skills.

- The ability to work alone or with a diverse team of multi-disciplined engineers and managers. This role covers the whole of the SSE Transmission Network therefore an amount of travelling will be expected of the successful applicant.
