About the Role
Base Location: Inverness, Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow
Salary: £74,600 - £112,000 + car / cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Reporting to the Offshore Engineering Programme Director, the Head of Offshore HVAC Engineering (High Voltage Alternate Current) will be accountable for the HVAC Offshore Project Engineering ensuring the Design, Engineering, FAT and SAT is managed from development to handover across the HVAC Offshore Transmission Large Capital Delivery suite of projects.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Promote and manage safety across the Offshore Transmission network ensuring HVAC (High Voltage Alternate Current) project designs are safe and compliant with the CDM and ESQCR Regulations.
- Lead the team who are responsible for development and execution of Design and Engineering solutions across the HVAC Offshore Transmission capital investment programme to quality, time and budget.
- Responsible for the development of innovative value engineering solutions to drive outperformance across the Offshore HVAC Transmission portfolio and in tandem with the HVDC portfolio through project specific design solutions as well as driving the refinement of specification requirements.
- Work closely with the Offshore Engineering Programme Director, Project Programme Directors, Project Directors and Lead Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Design risks are identified and understood, and appropriate mitigation measures are put in place to ensure all technical risks are managed and controlled to minimise risk to project/asset quality and programme.
- Responsible for the development, wellbeing, budgeting, recruitment and management of a HVAC engineering department which is expanding rapidly ensuring that we meet the growing business needs throughout the remainder of RIIOT2 and into RIIOT3 to meet our ASTI commitments.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Chartered Engineer in relevant engineering discipline and BEng Hons degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Considerable experience in the management and leadership of large and complex engineering and construction projects.
- Detailed operational knowledge of the technical and safety requirements of an electricity network including outage management and ensuring safety from the system.
- Strong technical knowledge of all relevant engineering disciplines in Transmission Engineering projects with the ability to foster new ideas and challenge normal ways of working.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision making.
