NDT Manager

AWE is recruiting an NDT Manager to develop and lead an NDT capability within the Production and Assets business area, to develop, deliver, and manage an NDT program focused on asset integrity. Work as part of the central Condition Based Maintenance team delivering an effective Asset Condition Management program across the business. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving quality assurance in all asset integrity NDT operations.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary: £47,690 - £64,000 (dependant on suitability and experience).

Responsibilities to include:

  • Working with the Maintenance Authority to create a database of assets that require NDT application, identify the relevant failure modes and NDT techniques to be employed.

  • Identify resourcing requirement, including SQEP requirements for delivery of NDT program, manage recruitment process.

  • Develop management system for the delivery of NDT program, including strategy, SoP's, reporting procedures, work management, planning of NDT activities, etc.

  • Creation and verification of NDT documentation including the preparation of project specifications.

  • Co-ordination of NDT verifications/qualifications.

  • Co-ordination of 3rd party inspection activities and interpretation of reports including management of resulting recommendations and/or actions.

  • Review journals and technical papers, attend conferences/training events to maintain awareness of advances in NDT technologies and techniques.

  • Maintain contact with external NDT industry, NDT equipment suppliers, and consumables vendors.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
