Solutions Specialist

An exciting opportunity to be involved in designing and delivering IT infrastructure solutions to the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon (FCASW), and other programmes.

Salary: Circa £55-65k depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1-2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Working within the Customer Services & Infrastructure (CS&I) Solutions team, you will be responsible for architecting solutions, forming functional and non-functional requirements, managing relationships with suppliers and internal customers, delivering technical solutions, and contributing to strategy.

This is an opportunity to work at secret classification on programmes such as GCAP and FCASW. With your knowledge of network design, configuration of servers, and solution architecture you will be contributing to meaningful programmes in the defence industry.

What we're looking for from you:

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft technologies including but not limited to: Windows Server including clustering, Exchange, Active Directory, MECM/SCCM and SQL Server.
• Good understanding of Cloud Services such as Microsoft Azure (or equivalent) & integration into on premise solutions
• Proven skill in producing architectural and design documents such as high-level designs, low-level designs, specifications, and requirements.
• Knowledge in containerisation & virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V and Docker would be desirable.
• Experience in working with engineering and software engineering lifecycle applications (in areas such as ALM) would be advantageous
• Strong analytical skills, applying a methodical data-driven approach.
• Understanding of best practices working in a high security, multiple network environment typical in the defence industry.
• Ability to work effectively in multi-discipline, multi-cultural and diverse teams.
• Able to digest complex requirements and communicate solutions to varying levels of technical competency.
