An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to work in the Central Data team to ensure the effectiveness of tools, processes and policies which are in place.

Salary: Circa £47 ,00 0 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3/4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance:

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

We are looking for an engineer with experience in the use of ERP systems, who would enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience to influence and develop best practice. You will be responsible for defining and managing audit strategies in line with the master data policy working with the wider engineering and planning teams to drive improvements and standardisation
  • A strong collaborative nature, supporting engineering and the wider manufacturing team
  • Use of SAP to extract, understand and interpret data and communicate cause and effects based on actions/ decisions taken
  • Review of Engineering process to ensure they align and deliver a robust MRP output
  • First line support for daily issues
  • Have involvement in the Operational excellence master data work stream to promote data integrity across the ERP environment
  • Generating and distributing KPI packs
  • Generation and Execution of Auditing strategies for master data including material masters, BOMS and routings
  • Define and implement the process for inputting routing times into routings allowing for SAP to manage capacity and scheduling functionality
  • Understand and define the process of creating new assembly structures from the deliverable level down to sub component. Work with cross functional business teams to identify and implement process improvements which better support the use of SAP with a key focus on customer delivery
  • Create and review detailed requirement analysis document and functional specifications based on business requirements
  • Work with the outsourced support partner to identify, develop, implement, test, and support enhancements to the SAP system. This includes training and supporting the wider business.
  • Perform system regression testing for new releases or upgrades to SAP
  • Generate, review and maintain SAP user guides
What we're looking for from you:
  • HNC Level of qualifications or equivalent.
  • APICs supply chain certification desirable but not essential to the role.
  • Experience in the use of ERP essential.
  • Experience of SAP beneficial.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven track record of managing and implementing process improvements
