Job title: Senior Engineer- Remote Visual Inspection

Location: Barrow in Furness- We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and implement a tailored training package for the company's management system
  • Lead research and development of specialised equipment to support business objectives, including exploring innovations from other industries to meet evolving needs
  • Provide comprehensive support for RVI equipment, including maintenance, repairs, procurement, trials, and handling emergent requests within the department
  • Generate and analyse performance metrics to assess the benefits of capability improvements over time
  • Assist in preparing business cases and justifications, with a focus on maximising return on investment
  • Your skills and experiences:

    Essential

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering Discipline or relevant experience
  • Knowledge Visual inspection
  • Must have the ability to effectively negotiate, persuade and influence up to senior management
  • Desirable

  • Previous RVI/inspection experience would be beneficial
  • Must have excellent report writing skills
  • Toolsets Jira, Sharepoint, Microsoft
  • Remote visual inspection experience

    The Nuclear Engineering Inspection team:

    This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a growing team at BAE Systems, working across a variety of platforms within our Submarine division. You'll gain hands-on experience with key projects like Astute, Dreadnought, SSNA, and AUKUS, while expanding your knowledge and developing valuable skills throughout different stages of the build process. You'll be part of a talented team of 70 professionals, spread across six specialised groups within our Innovation and Improvements department-a dynamic environment where you can truly enhance your expertise in inspection and cutting-edge technology.
