Job Description
Job Title: Senior Enterprise Architect
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £75,000+ with executive level benefits including bonus and car allowance.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop and manage a single aligned roadmap across IT/OT capabilities to target investments and maximise project delivery value
Define and implement an IM&T strategy that supports the broader objectives of the business
Lead the coordination of IM&T Product Group strategies and roadmaps to align with Business Unit and Sector goals
Evaluate the suitability of submarines’ business capabilities and guide investment prioritisation to address business needs
Oversee the “Programme Architecture,” managing cross-project dependencies, risks, and planning within the joint programme of work
Coordinate and validate IM&T innovation activities, ensuring they are strategically sound and can inform future solution designs
Your skills and experiences:
Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing within an IT function, including coordinating cross-functional IM&T strategies and roadmaps
Proven ability to oversee and guide complex programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing dependencies and risks
Significant expertise in enterprise architecture, including developing and managing IT/OT integration strategies and aligning business functional strategies with technical capabilities. (at least 10 years experience)
Experience overseeing “Programme Architecture” to ensure cohesive planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation
Ability to assess the “fit for purpose” level of business capabilities and guide investment priorities to align with holistic business needs
Strong familiarity with IT trends, good practices, and the delivery of key projects across Solution Definition, Design, and Delivery skill sets
Experience driving IM&T innovation activities, ensuring outcomes are strategically aligned and integrated into future solution designs

The Enterprise Strategy and Planning team:
The role involves aligning business strategies with IT/OT capabilities through a unified roadmap to maximise value and manage cross-dependencies across portfolios. Responsibilities include defining and implementing an IM&T strategy, integrating Product Group roadmaps, prioritising investments, managing programme architecture dependencies and risks, and driving IM&T innovation to ensure future solutions meet business objectives. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
