National Grid is hiring a Associate Data Developer for our Customer Connections Team based in Warwick.
About the role
The Associate Data Developer role plays a big part in our Electricity Transmission Team, delivering actionable insight that drives business performance across the function.
Working with key stakeholders across Electricity Transmission, you will understand the key business challenges helping to determine the most impactful insight and translate this into business requirements. You will support in the management of insight delivery, consider the business readiness for insight implementation, and undertake necessary engagement to ensure the insight drives action and is continuously improved.
What you'll do
Collaborate with Electricity Transmission (ET) to identify areas where insight would be beneficial in articulating and understanding business performance
Analyse the business environment to determine insight scope, fully document business requirements and build a robust business case highlighting business value and drivers
Identify opportunities to increase business value, leading by example to create thoughtful and considered intelligence, simplifying insight and ensuring alignment to ET strategic priorities
Manage the design and delivery of insight solutions that support Electricity Transmissions performance ambitions
Ensure successful engagement with insight content, ensure required communication and any necessary training has been delivered to stakeholder groups
Understand our data governance and controls, ensure requirements are met during development of insight, and that data ethics has been considered throughout
Analyse insight to identify trends, using business context to articulate business performance issues and suggest options to improve business outcomes
Manage insight lifecycle, to ensure insight roadmap is managed, content remains relevant, and opportunities are identified for continuous improvement
What you'll need
Able to form relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a business analyst to challenge and understand desired business outcomes and current performance
Demonstrable evidence of developing and delivering performance related measures from data sets, this may include, understanding requirements, utilising advanced data mining, analysis, systems and programming logic, engagement and communication
Experience in working within or project managing insight development, acting as a stakeholder contact and working within a team to deliver successful insight, able to understand risk and controls and to track and monitor these.
Demonstrate understanding of the impact User Interface and User Experience in enabling successful insight, able to advise stakeholders in optimal visualisation solutions
Experience in stakeholder and user engagement, considering communication requirements, and business readiness
Exposure & knowledge of how data in core Electricity Transmission systems i.e. Work and Asset Management system, Investment Management system etc. is structured and able to advise stakeholders in what is possible in insight delivery
Knowledge and experience of visualisation and data transformation tools which may include: Business Objects universe design and reporting, Structured Query Language compilation (SQL), Tableau Desktop & Server, IBM InfoSphere, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel
Experience of utilising analytical and problem solving skills to facilitate the analysis of large and/or complex data sets leading to recommendations for, and support of, improvement actions.

Starting salary of £41,048 - £48,683.50
