Job Title: Systems Engineer - IT & Computing

Location: Coventry. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

    Playing a key role in systems engineering activity for the development and deployment of new productsUnderstanding our customers' challenging needs, developing, validating, and managing requirementsDeveloping and documenting complex system architectures and sub-systems, providing evidence of fitness for purpose and customer valueDeveloping, testing and delivering info-centric solutionsIntegrating systems containing electronic, mechanical and software sub-systems, understanding the potential impact across the entire system as well as interfacing platforms and equipmentTaking accountability for technical work packages and verifying that customer needs are satisfied through qualification and test activitiesWorking within a diverse group of engineers, providing guidance, and coaching to othersSteering new systems development through the implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

    Extensive expertise and understanding of Engineering lifecycles and System Engineering principlesExperience of delivering IT solutions architectureUnderstanding of DevSecOps principles and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipeline and associated toolsetsProficiency in Agile toolsets e.g. Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and GITInterfacing, APIs, and networking protocols (TCP/UDP)Experience in the deployment and management of virtualised environments
Desirable:

    Knowledge of the full IT stack .NET/Core, C#, AnsibleProficient in software development languages and databasesWorking to high standards of technical assurance and qualityAwareness of Maritime Combat Systems Relational databases (MySQL) on Windows/Linux platforms
