Job Title: Marine Welding Inspector

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £51,579 depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

    Providing an efficient technical Welding Inspection and welding technicalCapability service to internal and external customers that enables the appropriate governance and assurance checks to ensure our products and services are delivered to the required standardsLiaising with classification society i.e. Lloyds/ DNV to discuss requirements and making recommendationsWorking with Skills Development Centre on training and testing requirements for weldersProviding knowledge, experience and technical support to enable resolution to problems that will be encountered during delivery phasesControlling, directing and advising BAE, It's customers, auditors and classification Society's with regards to all Welding technical matters
Your skills and experiences:

    Proven Engineering experience in a marine environment having completed a recognised Apprenticeship in a Constructive disciplineMust hold an in date CSWIP 3.1 Welding inspectionHold in-depth Welding process knowledge in Maritime welding practicesBe qualified or experienced in 1 of Non-Destructive Examination to PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection or Dye Penetrant Inspection

Our team provides Maritime Services with efficient technical Welding Inspection/NDE capability, we advise and support to internal and external customers supporting the Royal Navy and their warship vessels.

Appling appropriate governance and assurance checks with the objective to deliver products and services safely, we are proactive, agile and can absorb and assess multiple sources of information to establish solutions to production problems to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved in welding in a controlled environment.

We are at hand to advise the Maritime projects on welding and complex technical matters, with both opportunities to work in PNB and abroad.
