Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £45,000 dependant on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

    Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager in the successful delivery of all engineering aspects of the projectCreating an appropriate Project Engineering Management Plan under the direction of the Project Engineering ManagerLiaising with the relevant Site Engineering Authority (SEA) as required to ensure that all requirements are metAdvising Project Manager on engineering risk, devising a plan to mitigate this riskReviewing supplied designs from an engineering perspectiveProviding robust engineering assurance of engineering solutions, designs, specifications and instructions and documentation that meet the safety, legal, quality and technical requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

    Degree qualified or equivalent experience (electrical/civil/mechanical/nuclear/aeronautical/naval/automotive)Experience of modern engineering techniques within complex, multifunctional organisationsExperience in setting up Engineering project procedures and processes within infrastructure
Desirable:

    Membership of a relevant professional body (registered with the Engineering Council)Model Based systems engineering knowledgeKnowledge of LCM / RIBA / NPI Project Management

The Infrastructure Project Engineering team:

Collaborating with the infrastructure function, the team supports the delivery of major infrastructure projects by providing engineering expertise and input across a diverse range of initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant portfolio, ensuring BAE's infrastructure is future ready. You'll have opportunities for advancement and development within the project engineering environment and the wider teams. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
