The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity in a fast moving, unique, multi-national Function managing the Company Industrial Policy and Supply Chain Management approach. The successful candidate will be driving forward with the mission to support the selection and development of a high performing, low risk supply chain across the Globe aligned to the needs of our Domestic and Export Customers.
The Role
  • The objective of this key supply chain management role is to achieve a high performing sustainable supply chain for MBDA by developing a capable supply base in order to ensure On Time, On Cost, On Quality (OTOCOQ) equipment deliveries as per the delivery plan.
  • Supply Chain Management shall inform the business of the supplier capability, strengths and weaknesses, manage further evaluation, risk assessment and undertake mitigation action through continuous improvement activities.
  • The role delivers manufacturing sustainment capability through supplier performance analysis to ensure robustness throughout the production phase.
  • The role will involve significant levels of supply chain risk management through the proactive collection and analysis of risk intelligence and the prevention and treatment of risk through the supply chain
  • The role will involve working with suppliers all over the world in the territories that MBDA product is, or will be sold.
  • The role will include supply chain management support to industrial validation activities; during development phases; during the production phases, including reviewing the supplier Surveillance Plan.

  • Each IAP Supply Chain Manager shall have allocated to him/her a set of suppliers. These may be by Domain, Region or a mix of the two
  • The Team are driving towards achieving a vision of  ‘Creating and enabling the conditions to shape the best performing and sustainable supply base capable of supporting MBDA’s global leadership’
 What are we looking for?
  • We are looking for someone who ideally has Degree level qualification plus CIPS post-graduate Diploma or equivalent and/or a significant track record of delivery and experience; 
  • Experience of supply chain management in the Aerospace or Defence Industry or similar environments;
  • To succeed in this role, you need to be able to network at all levels of a supplier's business.
  • It is also essential that you can facilitate teams of people that are not necessarily hierarchically linked to you;
Other qualities will include:
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management, identification, analysis, forecast and action planning
  • Strong Project Management techniques and tools in order to guarantee effective multi-functional evaluation and capability development of Suppliers
  • Effective evaluation of suppliers business, technical, manufacturing, design and TLCM readiness
  • Expertise in relationship management tools and techniques
  • Expertise in Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques
  • The role will also heavily rely on the appropriate behaviours that develop a trusting and honest relationship with internal and external stakeholders
