Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Project Engineer

12 month fixed term contract

Would you like to help enhance processes currently in place at our Radway Green site? We currently have an opportunity for an OEE Project Engineer to join us in Radway Green on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

As an OEE Project Engineer, you will be using system engineering and lean manufacturing tools and techniques to identify and improve product and process improvements across the manufacturing facility. You will be consulting with the relevant technical authorities and complying with the change management procedure when carrying out changes.

This role will provide you with the chance to make some valued changes for the Land (UK) business area through your identification and execution of improvement opportunities with regards to safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Your main responsibilities as an OEE Project Engineer will involve:

Ensuring all activity is carried out in a safe manner, taking particular account of the additional hazards in an explosives environment

Supporting the delivery of Safety KPIs, including OSHEN reporting, Tool Box talks, Talk Safes, Work Place Inspections, PAVA's, etc.

Supporting effective management systems for implementation of SHE policy, legislation and safe systems of work - supporting planning, organisation, monitoring and review of preventative and protective measures

Leading the site teams in developing plans for performance improvement strategies that align to operating systems

Through a team approach, facilitating root cause analysis for non-conforming costs and providing robust corrective actions to eliminate cause

Measuring and analysing performance data with the target of identifying initiatives that will improve systems or equipment performance

Preparing technical documentation including reports, procurement and requirement specifications

Your skills and qualifications:


  • Proven track record in high volume manufacturing engineering
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing process control, OEE/continuous improvements, problem solving techniques, quality control systems and Lean manufacturing
  • Ability to coach and support all operators and technicians working on OEE/continuous improvement activities
  • Experience of implementing systems to ensure that decisions are data driven
  • Ability to implement projects that will deliver benefits on cost, quality, delivery, safety
  • A good understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing techniques and munitions assembly processes
  • An understanding of technical reporting techniques
  • Fully computer literate (particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel)


  • Knowledge of performance and specifications for Light Munitions products or a closely associated engineering discipline
  • Experience in a senior role
  • Demonstrable relevant domain knowledge and leadership skills

Salary: £31,652
