Would you like to work across leading edge technologies for the Royal Navy's latest and most capable generation of attack submarines? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager at our site in Frimley.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be managing and coordinating the timely delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary packages of work or programmes, whilst establishing, developing and maintaining mutually beneficial customer and stakeholder relationships.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work across different complex projects and working in a highly motivated team, engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders within the defence sector.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager will involve:
Providing leadership responsibility for the engineering function within Combat Systems, including undertaking line management responsibilities for small engineering teams
Coordinating engineering team activities ensuring through life capability
Providing technical direction and governance, and being involved in collective and individual resource management across teams of engineers
Directing teams in producing complete and coherent requirements analysis and definition, across multiple areas from design to build
Driving the future vision of engineering management within the combat systems arena into the future with the adoption of new processes and toolsets
Supervising the generation of technical, quality, in-service logistic support and safety requirements to facilitate procurement from sub-contractor suppliers to meet MOD customer system requirements
Liaising with the MoD customers, suppliers and shipbuilders to agree requirements and acceptance solutions and programmes
Participating in design reviews with the MoD customer, shipbuilder and design teams
Your skills and qualifications:
Understanding of engineering process requirements from design through to test and delivery
Experience and delivery of complex systems in a Defence environment
Experience of technical requirements and liaison with prime customer and sub-contract suppliers
Demonstrable experience of leading and managing teams
Degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
Knowledge and experience of submarine or naval platforms
Chartered engineer, or working towards

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
