The Opportunity
The role provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in how the MOD operates and interacts with industry across the entirety of the Complex Weapons Portfolio. The candidate will be embedded into the joint Portfolio Management Team and will get the opportunity to shape the way the Portfolio evolves. There will be a great deal of interfacing with all TLEC Projects at both MOD and MBDA level and the successful candidate will therefore gain a broad understanding of the MOD policy and processes to procuring defence equipment, as well as the constraints the MOD works under.
 
The Role
 The candidate will manage a small team, who will be responsible for undertaking traditional B&PM activities within the Portfolio Sector, as well as coordinating Portfolio wide B&PM activities across the complete scope of the TLEC.
 
Specific Portfolio Sector B&PM responsibilities will include:
  • Establishing the work load forecast for the Portfolio Sector and its associated transformation activities
  • Generating and managing the annual budget for the Portfolio Sector
  • Coordinating the Portfolio team “Plan On A Page” inputs, both for the Portfolio Sector within MBDA and the Joint Portfolio Management Team.
  • Coordinating the Portfolio level Strategic Risk and Opportunity management activities
 
TLEC wide Portfolio B&PM responsibilities will include:
  • First point of contact for Portfolio specific B&PM related queries from all TLEC Project Business Teams
  • Managing the flow-down of Task Directives and CPAS’ to TLEC projects following Contract Amendments
  • Managing the monthly TLEC reporting process, the output of which is visible by both the customer and MBDA.
  • Coordinating project C@C across TLEC projects, including liaising with Portfolio Business Team to ensure PMAP and FOP impacts are understood
  • Providing the secretariat function across the entirety of the Portfolio Governance across the Complex Weapons Portfolio, ensuring the various reviews and boards have the required management information to support timely and effective decision making and ensuring timely achievement of actions arising, including:
    • Portfolio Steering Board & 2* Business Delivery Reviews
      • co-chaired by DE&S Director Weapons, MBDA UK MD & Capability SRO
    • Portfolio Management Board, 1* Business Delivery Reviews & Portfolio Development & Delivery Review
      • Co-chaired at MOD 1* / MBDA Director level
