Full time, part-time and flexible working patterns will be considered
From the smallest details to leading the biggest decisions, your impact will be out of this world.
Here at HMGCC, we’re a centre of technical excellence. Using world-class tech, we develop unique communication systems to help safeguard the country. It means that the problems we face are hugely complex, and the projects we work on are highly sensitive. Because of this, they simply can’t be solved anywhere else.
Working as a Technical Lead at HMGCC means you get to lead the end-to-end development of key products and technologies that will make significant contributions to the UK Government's ability to communicate and protect national security. You'll take on challenges considered too difficult or sensitive to be done elsewhere, and, through the insights our unique relationships with our customer agencies give us, you'll know that you made a difference.
Working with our impressive in-house prototyping and manufacturing services, you’ll bring together a range of disciplines. It’s all part of solving a range of niche challenges. Uniquely, you’ll use your expertise in one of two ways – with the chance to decide on your specialism. A technical manager, you’ll inspire a team of developers and define, plan and manage their work. With a collaborative ethos, you’ll work with project managers to plan for requirements and map time. Or, as a natural problem-solver, you’ll oversee the engineering lifecycle on some of our most intricate projects. You’ll also operate at a programme level – managing the eco-systems of technologies, and shaping future developments. No matter which route you take, you’ll work towards the best outcomes and have the chance to manage other Technical Leads.
With an impressive background, you’ll have experience of working on physical product projects. Technically-minded, you’ll naturally understand these aspects and understand how to tailor processes for more complex developments. We’ll expect you to have experience in aspects of both technical leadership and systems engineering.
With excellent communication skills, you’ll work well with a team and you’ll have a natural ability to influence customers and stakeholders. Proactive and confident, you’ll want to constantly improve your own professional development and champion the best solutions.
In return, you’ll take advantage of a creative environment, world-class training and flexible working. As part of the Technical Lead community, you’ll soon have an impact that’s out of this world.
