At 280 meters long, 70 meters wide and 56 meters tall, the new aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (QEC) will be the largest ship ever to be commissioned by the Royal Navy, and a major symbol of Global Britain on the World stage. We currently have vacancies for Senior Ship Wardens to work on this platform and others at our site in Portsmouth.
As a Senior Ship Warden, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and control of assigned ship wardens and to assist the ship warden supervisor in the management of care and protection for designated vessels. You will also take due regard at all times for the provision of SHE and employee welfare. The role will be broad and varied, with the opportunity for excellent career progression.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Ship Warden will involve:
Operating Safe Systems of Work that comply with company processes and procedures on SHE to ensure the safety of all staff
Supervising, as directed, low level maintenance and equipment as required by contract specification
Acting as the authorised person for Confined Space and High Voltage
Deputising for ship warden supervisors in their absence
Maintaining positive relationships with the ship's staff, projects and customers
Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Ship Warden :
Experience within Royal Navy Leading Hand Engineering Technician role or above or civilian equivalent
Confined Space Authorised Person
High Voltage Authorised person
Working knowledge of electrical safety and testing

You will possess a tactful approach, whilst remaining calm under pressure when dealing with conflicting requirements. You must also be an effective leader, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
