The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to manage a dynamic team responsible for providing structural and thermal analysis and expertise in the delivery of MBDA’s products, across a multitude of UK and International Weapon System programmes and also on various Research and Development activities.
The Role
Working as part of the Mechanical Engineering Function management team, the key purpose of the role is to provide strong leadership and management support to the Mechanical Analysis (UK) Group, in order to ensure the Group’s ongoing capability to deliver Project milestones to time and cost:
  • You will be responsible for the development and deployment of the resources in the area (around 35 analysis engineers), workload forecasting, managing budgets, skills development and supporting key HR activities during the year.
  • Management and development of the Chief Stress Engineers, certain Lead Analysis Engineers and the Thermal Technical Expert within the Group
  • Responsible for delivery of Project milestones to time and cost
  • Management of Mechanical Analysis IRAD work

What are we looking for?
  • The candidate shall be ideally degree qualified or equivalent and have substantial relevant industrial experience
  • Proven leadership and people management skills and demonstrated ability to motivate a team
  • The candidate shall have a strong technical background in the Mechanical Engineering discipline, ideally with structural and/or thermal analysis experience
  • Good numerical, verbal and written skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • The candidate shall be self-motivated, determined and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organisation
