Would you like to work on the Challenger 2 Tank programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Supportability Engineer at our site in Telford.
As a Supportability Engineer, you will be conducting supportability assessments practically on vehicle or theoretically based upon Computer Aided Design models and production drawings for proposed modifications.
This role will provide you with excellent opportunities to be part of and work on exciting vehicle future programmes.
Your main responsibilities as a Supportability Engineer will involve:
Initial identification of potential safety hazards with close liaison with the safety function to identify and document hazards and support the CR2 hazard log, safety case and that support products are ALARP
Initial identification of potential training needs or requirements, with close liaison with training specialists to identify and document training impact to system or sub system level
Creating comprehensive, clear support engineering assessments in the form of reports or presentations of supportability assessments for internal and external customers
Working with specialists to conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) processes on existing assemblies, Sub-Assemblies & Components
Responsible and accountable for the population of Logistic Support data within the BAE data
1st and 2nd tier customer liaison to elicit requirements and acceptance criteria or provide feedback on requirements
Working with other specialist or platform Support Engineers to develop/inform equipment supportability impact statements/cases
Your skills and qualifications:
REME Control Equipment Technician experience or equivalent
REME Class 1, Challenger 2 trade qualifications
Served in Challenger 2 operational units
Basic understanding of reliability and maintainability
Basic understanding of SHE and product safety would be desirable
