Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks forms part of the FTSE-50 energy company, SSE. Our electricity distribution and transmission networks carry electricity to over 3.7 million homes and businesses across Scotland and Central Southern England. Our skilled teams are based right across the regions we serve, from the bustle of West London to the smallest villages in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

The Active Solutions Team are responsible for the design, construction and management of SSEN's suite of smart-grid solutions, such as the Active Network Management (ANM) Systems and Flexible Connections. Working closely with our Innovations, System Planning, Commercial and Operational Technology teams, our principal aim is to implement solutions which improve network efficiency, decarbonise UK networks and integrate renewable generation for internal and external customers, we're looking to recruit a Project Delivery Manager to our team.

As Project Delivery Manager, who will be responsible for managing, planning and coordinating multiple live projects and associated resources, actively identifying and resolving problems, managing risks and delivering successful project completion to allocated budget and customer satisfaction. You will be able to analyse network topography and customer design requirements to determine the best solution and implement to provide a permanent solution, feeding your knowledge back into the team to provide continuous improvement.

You will support all testing of active systems through review and approval of test specifications designed to prove system functionality across all testing stages, using the approved specifications you will attend relevant testing stages to ensure system delivers system requirements as laid out in the design stage. As issues are identified through testing you will be proactive in suggesting and approving sustainable solutions that will resolve the root causes and ensure successful project delivery.

In collaboration with other Active Solutions Team members, you will construct and review new scheme design considering lessons learnt from previous schemes and alterations and extensions to meet customer requirements in accordance with Company safety, design, budget and quality standards.

You will have previous experience working within electrical distribution networks and knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures. You will have extensive project management experience and ideally have an appreciation of PRINCE2, Lean or Agile methodologies; you must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and have experience in Pi, ENMAC or PowerOn systems. Knowledge of connection design and/or system planning methodology would also be a distinct advantage.

Excellent communication and reporting skills are essential and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines is vital. You will be willing to learn and develop new skills and have a positive, confident approach to problem solving. You must be A flexible approach to working is essential as travel will be required at times and you will hold a full UK driving license.
