A Day in the Life Of

  • Debate the pros and cons of your newest concept with colleagues from across the business.
  • Run a DFMEA review and help drive the team to delve right into the design concept and make sure it’s as watertight as possible.
  • Monitor the latest technologies & select components to give your design the edge.
  • Work with Test Engineering to figure out how your product will be tested on the production line
  • Run circuit simulations to ensure your design is up to the job under all conditions.
  • Chat with our mechanical engineers and negotiate where they want to position some of the components.
  • Make some changes to a schematic before sending it to one of our PCB designers for layout.
  • Peer review hardware & firmware with colleagues in the UK, India and USA.
  • Down to the fire labs to see how the latest revision to smoke algorithms are performing.
  • Pop over to the SMT lines to see progress with your latest PCBs.

About You

  • You’re a problem-solver who loves finding creative solutions.
  • You’re endlessly curious and will hunt to find the answer to your questions.
  • Anything you pick up, you can’t help but peer at the details and figure out how it works.
  • If you start something, you need to see it through to completion.
  • You get it done even when this takes you in an unexpected direction.

Bonus Points for Experience with:

  • Bare metal, real time, & low power non-RTOS programming
  • EMC standards & troubleshooting
  • Six Sigma
  • Functional Safety
  • ATEX rated products (especially Intrinsically Safe)
