Would you like to be involved in one of the most challenging engineering projects in the UK? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be controlling, monitoring and managing the reactor test section to meet the Integrated Master Schedule and ensure maturity and delivery is to the agreed time, budget and quality.
This role will provide you with an opportunity for succession planning to provide continuity in a reactor critical management role.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager will involve:
Reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and, where necessary, intervening to resolve issues so that the programme is delivered to plan
Liaising directly with senior management to advise on programme issues and progressing against the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) documentation to support the plan and any metrics in use
Managing & integrating an engineering programme or project, consisting of a number of major engineering systems, disciplines, platform assemblies, equipment and software products
Developing and maintaining relationships with customers to meet customer requirements, and leading in swift resolution of major issues
Leading and managing a team of Reactor Commissioning Project Leaders, with an overview of the wider Reactor Commissioning Team
Representing the company at design reviews and other outworking requirements
Delivering packages of work/services, involving new products and/or complex upgrades, utilising new and existing technologies, requiring multiple interfaces with customers/suppliers
Promoting safe working practices in accordance with company Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) policy and compliance with business quality best practice
Your skills and qualifications:
HNC/HND or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline
Detailed knowledge of reactor systems
Experience in a management/team leader position
Experience of liaising with Senior Stakeholders both internally and externally
Experience in the delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations for cost, quality, timeliness and specification - desirable
Ideally have experience of commissioning process/practices - desirable
