CTAS Engineering Lead

Would you like to play a key role leading the development of an advanced weapon system for the UK and French MOD? We currently have a vacancy for a Case Telescope Armament System (CTAS) Engineering Lead at our site in Bourges, France.

As a Case Telescope Armament System (CTAS) Engineering Lead, you will be working as part of a joint venture organisation, CTA International, established by Nexter and BAE Systems. Specifically you will be working to deliver development and qualification of Case Telescope Armament System (CTAS). The CTAS combines the revolutionary new CT40 medium calibre (40mm) gun and other equipment's into a fully integrated weapon system. Having qualified the cannon and ammunition in 2014 the company is now completing the full CTAS system ready for full rate production as part of the Nexter Jaguar programme for the French MoD. CTAI is also looking at further product development, with a strategic objective to market CTAS and CT40 Cannon beyond the home markets of UK and French MoD.

This role will provide you with the chance to work with cutting edge technology on a brand new armament system. You will also have the opportunity to work overseas with international customers.

The position will be for a three year secondment and you will be eligible for support in line with BAE Systems International Assignment Policy.

Your main responsibilities as a CTAS Engineering Lead will involve:

Leading the engineering team developing and qualifying the CTAS

Supporting the integration of the CTAS in the Jaguar demonstrator vehicles

Participation in bid building for export prospects for the CTAS

Presenting the technical progress to the client

Managing the technical works within the project team in compliance with R&D process

Updating and managing the compliancy of the product performances within the specified requirements

Reviewing performance and control reports

Developing, maintaining, recommending documents, supporting tools and back-end utilities to provide capacity planning management

Your skills and qualifications as a CTAS Engineering Lead:

Deep experience in one of the following areas is essential; but particularly important will be an appreciation of all areas in the context of systems and integration engineering:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • System Engineering
  • Software engineering
  • Control Systems Engineering
  • ILS

You must have strong French language skills as you will be liaising directly with the French Prime Contractor and the French customer community
