Senior Engineer (AR&M)
Would you like to play a key role in the delivery and development of submarine combat systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Availability, Reliability & Maintainability (AR&M) at our sites in either Weymouth, Frimley or Filton.
As a Senior Engineer (AR&M), you will be working in a large team supporting various projects and programmes by building detailed availability, reliability and maintainability case reports for the customer. The reports will provide a detailed explanation of each respective product's availability, reliability and maintainability which can be understood and interpreted by a wide range of stakeholder groups. You will also be heavily involved with mathematical modelling activities.
This role will provide you with the chance to work across the full spectrum of submarine combat systems, as well as the chance for excellent career development, lunchtime finishes on Fridays and an extremely modern working environment.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer (AR&M) will involve:
Producing and updating AR&M case reports on various projects for delivery direct to the customer
Reviewing the AR&M of deliverables from various suppliers
Producing, reviewing and updating the Failure Modes, Effects and Critical Analysis (FMECA)
Producing, reviewing and updating all Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD)
Working closely with suppliers, design authorities and the customer on all aspects of AR&M to ensure and assure quality and efficiency
Modelling of spares
Ensuring that all of the AR&M activities meet the requirements of the project
Undertaking all AR&M activities as required to meet appropriate project milestones
Your skills and qualifications:
Understanding of reliability and maintainability alongside an engineering background
Mathematical modelling/analysis experience with a willingness to learn about AR&M
The ability to produce RBD and FMECA
Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Logistic Support Analysis Records (LSAR)

Maritime Submarines - Combat Systems
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. It currently employs approximately 7,700 people, with 500 of these working for Combat Systems across our sites in Barrow-in-Furness, Ash Vale, Broad Oak, Filton, Frimley and Weymouth.
We are currently responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of the Royal Navy's latest and most capable generation of attack submarines, as well as their intelligent Combat Systems trusted to detect threats in the naval environment.
Our Combat Systems team designs, builds, integrates and supports all of the submarine combat systems in the UK fleet - essentially, the eyes and ears of each platform. We provide through-life support for combat systems, sensors and radars, and deliver complex programmes and technologies by applying expert programme management and world-class engineering.
