2018 Graduate Electronics Engineer (Firmware)

We’re seeking talented graduate engineers, who can apply their degree knowledge and skills in an innovative firmware engineering role. We have built up a team passionate about developing products for a safer world and we are now looking for like-minded graduate engineers to join us.
Assessment centre dates: 13 November – 14 December across multiple locations
This position would suit a talented degree-qualified engineer with experience in one of, or a mixture of the following:
- Hardware development languages: VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, C++
- Verification methodologies
- Digital electronic design principles
- FPGA architectures: Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi, Lattice
- Image processing techniques and algorithms
- Scripting languages: TCL, PERL, Python
- Engineering and industrial commercial awareness
- Strong organisational and people skills
- Strong evidence of analytical reasoning
As a graduate engineer, you will work with systems, software and hardware engineers to develop cutting-edge opto-electronic systems. This will involve using the latest industry class development tools for FPGAs and SoC hardware technologies, and working within a structured firmware design process.
Minimum educational requirements
You will have a relevant degree (Bachelors, Masters, EngD, PhD) in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering subject with a strong electronics or firmware bias.
In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
