This is a diverse and challenging role, where responsibilities include developing, instructing and managing capital maintenance investment needs across waste, supply and sewage pumping stations. You will lead the analysis and negotiation surrounding the prioritisation of these activities, adhering to principles of statutory and regulatory need, commercial benefit, risk and PR.
It will also be part of your role to work with engineering and construction teams to ensure new projects match operational requirements, and to provide input into the project management and implementation processes facilitating the effective and timely delivery of capital projects. You will ensure that all processes of corporate governance are fully complied with, engaging the support of the regional contracts function and taking full responsibility for the technical staff within the division.
We are looking for a strategic problem solver with excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a high performing team to deliver results and make continuous improvement. You will need substantial experience and a demonstrable track record of initiating successful projects and quality management of team outputs in complex circumstances. It's desirable that you will be a chartered engineer (civil, electrical or mechanical) with significant experience in the utilities industry.
