Job Description

We are looking for an Engineer to join our growing fluid dynamics and heat transfer team using theoretical analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to provide real engineering solutions across a wide range of business sectors. The teams currently undertake projects in the fields of Renewable Energy Performance, Nuclear Safety, Process Industry, Offshore Design and assessment, Gas Turbine and Marine Hydrodynamic Design.

You will be working on a variety of projects, both individually and as part of a team, using your knowledge and experience to deliver solutions to customers. This will involve theoretical calculations, CFD analysis, design optimisation and innovative ways to solve interesting engineering problems in an efficient way.

You will be expected to manage all aspects of a technical project, including client communication, project delivery and managing other project staff.


You will have a strong technical understanding of Aerodynamics, Hydrodynamics and Thermodynamics, ideally developed from experience in the analysis of complex fluid dynamic and heat transfer problems. Experience of measurement techniques, 'hands-on' problem solving and commercial CFD codes and mesh generators would be an advantage.

You will possess a good degree or PhD in engineering or an engineering related subject with a significant element of fluid dynamics in your degree.

You may also have a proven track record of managing technical projects and managing other analysis staff.

Excellent customer-facing skills are also essential as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
