The Opportunity
As part of a multi-skilled Security team, the Security Officer is responsible for the effective physical control of entry, operation and monitoring of all security and safety equipment at Stevenage and Henlow sites, and response to security and safety related incidents.
The Role
  • Operating security systems including Access Control System, CCTV, radio communication systems, Perimeter Intruder Detection systems.
  • Undertaking foot and mobile patrols, securing buildings, operating in a Control room environment, responding to emergencies and acting as Initial incident controller. Undertaking training in Vetting and Registry roles and provide support to Central Services team in delivering service to the business.
  • Working on a modern site using CCTV and Access Control systems plus pass production systems

What are we looking for?
  • BTEC Level Two (Security) or equivalent qualified. (If necessary training will be provided)
  • First Aid/ Defribulator qualified (If necessary training will be provided.)
  • Good working knowledge of security/safety processes.
  • Numerate and IT literate (word/email/Plan-on) to enable security activities to be carried out.
  • Good report writing skills
  • You will have a willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, when dealing with both internal and external employees/contractors.
  • Be able to undertake role under challenging circumstances e.g. Emergency situations whereby agile responses are required in response to changing environment
  • To succeed in this role, you need an eye for detail, be flexible and undertake training courses to enhance your skill-set,
  • Be able to undertake shift work, both day and night shifts, and when required travel and work at other MBDA Uk sites.
  • Full driving licence
  • On occasion you may be required to work alone.
