Senior QC Inspector (Coatings)

Would you like to be in an exciting role involved with one of the largest engineering projects in the world? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior QC Inspector (Coatings) at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior QC Inspector, you will be covering all inspection work within the build phase; part of the quality Inspection Coatings team, working to set specification (Workmanship Standards and Process Instructions) set out by BAE and agreed with all key stakeholders.

This role will provide you with excellent career progression opportunities and you will be fully supported in your development within BAE Systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior QC Inspector will involve:

Working in line with the current inspection and test plan agreed by the business and working to a right first time approach

Carrying out routine work with limited supervision and complex tasks under direct supervision in their related area/s

Being able to access, and have a clear understanding of the Quality and HS&E Management system documentation e.g. Process instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments in line with their particular work scope

Having a clear understanding and interpretation of measurement equipment tolerances and highlighting any non-conformances for inspections undertaken

Reporting results of inspections using the agreed processes set out by the business

Appraising product quality against the relevant workmanship standards

Raising and progressing defects through a governed SAP System

Your skills and qualifications:


Previous experience within a marine/industrial environment in relation to corrosion / preservation and the associated products and application techniques

Computer literate (Microsoft / excel / word)

Product Inspection background

Ability to interpret specifications, procedures and contract requirements

ICORR Level One Paint Inspection or Industry Equivalent


Experience of using SAP

Experience within the Defence domain

Time Served Tradesman

Understanding of steel working construction / manufacturing and associate standards practices

Salary: £30,495
