Small Boats Future Products and Solutions System Design Authority

Would you like the exciting opportunity to be working on new generation of small boats for the MoD? We currently have a vacancy for a Small Boats Future Products and Solutions System Design Authority at our site in Broad Oak, Portsmouth.

As the Small Boats Future Products and Solutions System Design Authority, you will be responsible for meeting the technical requirements, both contractual and business, of the small boats, the fitness for purpose of the system design and ensuring that the system design and implementation meets all regulatory and corporate governance rules.

This role will provide you with excellent career progression opportunities with the chance to work on new and developing projects. You will be fully supported in your development with BAE.

Your main responsibilities as a Small Boats Future Products and Solutions System Design Authority will involve:

Providing design expertise to develop innovative technical solutions for the UK and overseas customers for both in service boats and future requirements

Providing design certification responsibility including product safety and engineering governance

Having ownership of the product technology roadmap which supports the business strategy

Developing the technical solutions for bids and proposals

Managing the delivery of technical specification to internal and external partners

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Significant knowledge of small boat design

Working knowledge of Marine Electrical systems

Degree level qualification in Naval Architecture or similar

Chartered Engineer Status or capable of achieving in the near future

Desirable:

Awareness of marine safety regulations and requirements

Knowledge of the wider marine environment

Experience of complex electrical equipment installations
