Manufacturing Capability Lead

Would you like to join a new and exciting function supporting the Operations teams across Land (UK)? We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Capability Lead which can be based from Telford, Glascoed, Radway Green or Washington.

As a Manufacturing Capability Lead you will be responsible for supporting the analysis and development of current production processes across the Integrated Delivery Teams. The incumbent will work with both current and future state requirements as we look to develop and expand upon Land (UK)'s product and process portfolio.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to travel across sites. This is a brand new role and part of a new function and business - Land UK. You will be supporting business transformation activities

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Capability Lead will involve:

Leading the development and deployment of a process capability study across all manufacturing sites and ranges. Ascertaining the current state and then determining a cost effective future state position together with a gap analysis and programme of improvement activity

Supporting a collaborative and effective programme of improvement associated with overall equipment efficiency. Providing support and guidance in order to drive a step change in performance followed by a steady improvement gradient as the business 'seeks perfection'.

Supporting the strategy and manufacturing systems team with the introduction of new approaches to manufacture. Identifying ageing / incapable processes (see above) that could / should be made redundant via the completion of feasibility studies and successful submissions to the investment board, e.g. casting - additive layer

Designing and supporting the achievement of performance metrics that hold both IDTs and functions to account for the timely and effective prosecution of manufacturing improvement programmers in support of Land (UK)s overall business performance

Embedding processes and systems to improve the levels of self-help across the organisation to deal with existing processes but also support the introduction of new processes to ensure that they are fit for purpose from the outset

Managing interdependencies and conflicting priorities for the benefit of operations community and land (UK)

Your skills and qualifications as a Manufacturing Capability Lead:

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Technical Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)

In depth experience of Six Sigma (Black Belt level or equivalent) and SPC tools and techniques

Demonstrated manufacturing project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects

Stakeholder management skills and experience in working within a virtual team across multiple sites

Excellent MS office skills and use of SAP and Minitab

Knowledge of Land UK product and processes (desirable)

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to work within a challenging environment working to tight deadlines.

A sound knowledge of manufacturing and production techniques with an ability to develop improvement plans and drive them through to completion

Salary: £41,324+
