Would you like to play a key role in the design, implementation and management of some of the most integral Submarine systems, working at the very forefront of modern technology? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - TAHS at our site in Frimley.

As a Senior Engineer you will be working across all phases of the engineering lifecycle on the design, build and integration of Towed Array Handling Systems (TAHS) on UK submarine platforms. The systems are designed and built by an overseas supplier so it is important that you are able to maintain a close level of communication. You'll be responsible for supporting the day to day management of technical issues ensuring systems are designed and built in line with requirements.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within a defence company that is constantly growing its already well-established UK and International presence.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - TAHS will involve:

Supporting the lead engineer in managing the design of the Towed Array Handling Systems (TAHS) for in-build and in-service submarines

Carrying out defect rectification and subsequent design improvement

Managing the design requirements for the next-generation systems for future submarines

Managing design change, assessing evidence, and signing off requirements

Carrying out frequent supplier visits to support the management of the build and integration of the systems

Being involved in design reviews, including those with suppliers, ship builders and the MoD customer

Supporting system integration and testing during build and sea trials

Your skills and qualifications:


Degree level qualification in relevant engineering field or equivalent

Demonstrable experience in mechanical design engineering

Demonstrable experience interacting and building relationships with a variety of stakeholders at various levels, including suppliers and customers

Knowledge and experience of the full engineering life cycle, including requirements management, design, and integration

Experience in a systems engineering or systems integration environment
Experience in the defence, underwater, offshore, or relevant industry
